Women’s Day 2023

A year on from the launch of Un_Biased, on International Women’s Day 2023, the Central District Alliance brought together over 60 stakeholders and representatives from local businesses. The lively discussion helped refine the identified recommendations that were ultimately published in report.

Guest speaker, broadcaster and author, Caitlin Moran shared insights into the tribulations faced by ‘normal’ women on a daily basis; the need for men to be part of the conversation to fuel change; and the importance of women from different generations supporting and celebrating each other.

The International Women’s Day 2023 celebration concluded with a panel discussion including:

Cllr Comer-Schwartz, Leader of Islington Council

Cllr Sabrina Francis, Cabinet Member for Young People and Culture at Camden Council

Juanita Ingram, Esq. JD MBA, Founder of Dress for Success London, and

Claire Reindorp, Chief Executive Officer at Young Women’s Trust.

The conversations started this International Women’s Day, which build on over a year of work on the Un_Biased project, were fundamental to helping the Central District Alliance agree what recommendations should be driven forward as we look to the legacy of Un_Biased.
